Tomasello Residence
Sewickly PA
The owner architect team decided early on to establish a set of guidelines or goals for the project: The house was to be super efficient, oriented to take advantage of solar gain and be heated and cooled using a highly efficient
ground source system. All agreed that the strong craftsman heritage in the region was a wonderful opportunity to build on the architects' Arts and Crafts
design idiom.
The result is a 26,000 square foot home that sits comfortably on its site and operates at about the same rate as a house one fifth its size. It incorporates radiant
cooling and may well be the first private residence in America. using this technology.
